This is how it all started…
In 2023, I went through one of my darkest days in life. To overcome my thoughts of ending my life and seek the motivation to live on. I quit my job and went on an Adventure. I booked a one way ticket to Taiwan without any plans/itinerary and travelled the whole of Taiwan in 21 days! Find out more in my blog posts!
And Everything changed for me after watching a youtube CNA documentary of my friend XJ (Life Of A Rice Farmer: Growing Rice In Rural Japan). I wrote him an email immediately and got connected with him to volunteer at his farmstay in Dec ’23. I was captivated by the beauty of that place and the love from the community from Day 1..
I was the 21st Volunteer in 2023, and stayed there for 47 days! I did many things when I was there, watch the videos here:
And one of my main task was to cook and make meals for everyone. That’s the beginning of the #Simplefood journey for me, and I’m very blessed and honored to have fed their bellies well. For more stories of it, read my blog posts!
In the long winter nights, over many teas and warm Sakes… XJ and I talked about everything under the sun, and the many business concepts and plans XJ can implement! I also started dreaming of how I can “one day” work and retire in Japan.
